Yes! It the slim case is designed to fit the Jeda hub

+ How do I setup a Roadie?

First, download the 'Roadie for Tesla' app from the app store.

Second, plug the Roadie into the USB port of your Tesla and wait for the camera icon to pop up (next to the Sentry Mode icon)

Third, start the app and press Connect. Then scan the QRCode on the back of the Roadie. The app should then connect.

+ What is my Roadie's Device name?

Each Roadie has a unique name. This name can be found by looking at your wifi networks. The name will always look like "roadie-xxxxx'.

+ Can I access my Roadie from anywhere?

Yes with a catch. In order to access the Roadie you need to be within WiFi distance of the device, or connect the device to your home WiFi (under app settings). If you have a Wifi hotspot in your car along with the roadie you can access the device entirely remotely.

+ Can I access my Roadie when my Tesla is Off?

No. Your Tesla needs to be on to connect to the Roadie. You can use the Tesla app to turn on Sentry Mode, which will power up the Roadie. When done, turn it off.

+ Can I access Roadie from my computer?

Yes! No need to unplug the Roadie.

First, write down the name of your Roadie device. (Question answered above)

Next, go to settings under the Roadie app and make sure the device is connected to your home WiFi.

Finally, you can mount the Roadie as a remote disk from your computer:

For Windows:

  * Open the Start Menu
  * Right click on “Computer” or “My Computer”
  * Select “Map Network Drive”
  * Enter your Roadie's web address “http://roadie-[xxxxxx].local” for the WebDAV server and click “Finish”
  * Connect as Guest

For Mac:

  * Open Finder
  * Click the “Go” menu, choose “Connect to Server”
  * Enter your Roadie's web address “http://roadie-[xxxxxx].local” for the WebDAV server and click “Connect”
  * Connect as Guest

If you are still having trouble, you can plug the roadie directly into your computer to copy files off.

+ I can connect to my Roadie but the Dashcam icon never shows up on my Tesla display or keeps disappearing

This often indicates a bad USB cable or the USB port is loose. Try another micro usb cable if you have one or email support@tryroadie.com for a new one. Also try a different USB port in your Tesla.

Finally, with the Roadie Slim case, make sure the USB cable connected to the Roadie on the port marked with USB symbol. Not the power symbol.

+ My Android Phone won't connect to the Roadie

Android phones have some quirks that can make connecting to your Roadie difficult.

Network Rating Provider

Beginning in Android 8.1, Android includes advanced Wi-Fi settings intended to help your phone select better networks when many networks are availible. This feature may cause issues connecting or reconnecting to your Roadie, because it categorizes your Roadie as a lower-quality access point.

In order to remedy this issue, navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi Preferences > Advanced > Network Rating Provider. Select None and attempt to connect/reconnect to your Roadie.

Smart Wi-Fi / Wi-Fi+

Similar to Network Rating Provider, some Smart Wi-Fi implementations categorize the Wi-Fi networks broadcast by your Roadie as having poor signal. Because of this, certain Smart Wi-Fi features need to be disabled. Follow these instructions to do so:

Disable “Smart Network Switch” or “Auto Network Switch” from the phone’s Wi-Fi settings.

Go to: Wi-Fi Settings > Advanced > Disable “Smart Network Switch” or “Auto Network Switch.”

Huawei-Specific Troubleshooting

Disable Wi-Fi+ from the device’s Wi-Fi settings screen. Turn ON location services (GPS) on your phone before connecting your Roadie.

Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Location Access > Access My Location.
